Sunday, 8/10, Kristy and Carl Schmidt visited the job site for the first time. I got to meet their 8 month old son, Wyatt for the first time. Kristy is our interior designer who planned and designed our remodel project. During their visit they were exposed to the famous green hallway.
Their reaction was swift and decisive, they did not like the color. Sandy was teaching at Sunday school, so she didn't hear about their reaction till after they left. It was time to repaint the hallway. They picked two alternative colors to replace the green walls.
Victor is pictured painting over the green hallway. It took a day and two coats to make the "Pick of the Meadow" a memory and Sandy choice a reality.
Below, Clint and Victor inventory what colors are left over.
Right, Victor is ready to compete in a ocean fishing contest. When he
came to work he informed me he won 2nd place over the weekend.
Below our doors are delivered ready to be set in their final location. The plan is to install all doors and interior windows before installing the cabinets and flooring.
Darrell and Stacy remove an unsafe overhang in the stairwell. Anyone six foot or taller could bang their head creating a good bruise. The trick is to make the reconfigure looked like it was original.
Sandy and Craig do the Nikon jig to get the photos they need so Craig can cation the remodel blog photos as the project truly unfolds.
Key to capturing the remodel is our ability to tell the story of our journey to a new beginning through building a better space to live.
Here the contractors and me have an impromptu conference to discuss what switch control lights which light. Mikey is demonstrating the LED switch which dims our Kitchen.
Mikey is pictured connecting our ceiling can lights and reading how to wire our bathroom medicine cabinets. Note cool oil rubbed wall lights and the lighted magnifying mirror. Sandy found the mirror at WayFare, our new amazon.com.
Here is our new TV and wall mount in queue for installation above the fireplace. We will be able to watch 3D movies. Can't wait to see the Man of Steel fly across our Family Room.
One of the hazards of laying in the rough electrical is the sheet rockers over look cutting a hole for the new plug. Above is the new fire place with the pedestal in the upper right.
Just left of the yellow drill is suppose to be an wall outlet as pictured right in this earlier photo showing the blue boxes and yellow cable. Mikey now needs to go fishing to cut a new hole to reveal our lost wall duplex outlet.
The boys never tire to share one more story. They are probable talking about the painting the green hallway the new color.
NEXT, Stacy and Darrell will share their hookey day in Cloverdale. They needed to do another job tomorrow, leaving Sandy and I to enjoy our new hallway color.
When they return we will start to see the doors installed and window delivered and set in place.
Looking great. Sandy love your legs
