As each piece is unwrapped from it's protective cloth. I recall a story about why this piece was conceived. It may be a storage unit for our pots and pans, or we needed a unit just for dog treats or for all the special packets of meal planning we seem to accumulate.
Just agreeing make these cabinets out of cherry instead of alder was a story. I do love the stain...
It was an all-hands effort to unload the cabinets from the truck. These units are not light weight and when you factor in drawers and hardware your better be ready to carry the load. Left, is the kitchen cabinet for the new Kenmore refrigerator.
We have not seen our new appliances since they were delivered last June 3012 or 14 months ago. I hope we still like our purchases.
Now that the cabinets are unpacked these two guys from John's can rest till the end of the week when they bring the rest of the cabinets including our new eating cove seat.
Darrell is busy cutting trim pieces for installation.
Below, we are full up with cabinets.
Stacy is busy adding trim around our new set of dining room French doors which lead into the back porch and the other French doors into our Family room.
This is our hall bathroom coming together. Imagine a blue granite counter top with two clear glass bowls and goose neck fixture providing water to person washing their hands.
It's fun to see those blue tape line on the floor actually get filled with the real thing.
Above, Stacy slides another drawer in the bath room storage closet where all our medicines and sundries will reside.
Left, is our new pantry storage all will be equipped with adjustable shelves.
Below, Darrell is ready to drill another screw as Stacy works to align the cabinets to the wall.
Stacy is charged with adjusting all the hinges so they align properly and performed as designed when opened and closed. It is a very tedious job with lots of patience to complete the task correctly.
While all the excitement was going on over the cabinet installation Brad, the plumber was installing our gas supply line to the fire place. Now, Darrell can finish the framework so the stone mason can stone veneer our pedestal and chimney. This is another key element of our remodel, a three sided glass fireplace.
NEXT, More cabinets
