Construction has Resumed!

Construction has finally resumed. After vacations, a short holiday week and getting ready for the inspection, we lost about 2-1/2 weeks. This is very typical in construction and should be anticipated.

Pictured on the right Darrell review the plans to start getting ready for the sheet rocker coming in two days.

First you got to get all the insulation back into the ceiling and walls.

Darrell and Stacy discuss various ways to achieve the next construction tasks.

They are brother-in-laws and have know each other since junior high.
It took a long time before they started working together as general contractors. They have been doing jobs together for the last ten years with more talent and skills then most builders.

Here's an example of the final ceiling look before sheet rock is installed.

Above, Stacy is having good luck re-installing our old door bell

Stacy puts the final touches on the entry wall to be strengthen with a special plywood design for its structural characteristics.

Note: the creative use of the step ladder on the scaffolding.

Another important chore is getting all the rough electrical work complete before the sheet rockers start. Mikey is installing one of three back porch wall light boxes.

Another aspect of rough electrical is running wires to their supply switches and in some cases special breaker wires. This insures we have code compliance in the event of an electrical incident.

At the close of every work day, the builder sweep-up so the job site is safe for the owners.
