Day 41, The sheetrocking begins with the ceiling

 Sheet rocking starts with material delivered to the job site. Here's Darrell's big Ford custom bed truck loaded with all the supplies needed to do the job.


Next step is unloading the the sheet rock. Those are 4'x12' sheets and they are not light weigh. Notice who carries and who slide around.

Sheet rock comes in various types. Some of the sheets will be used specifically in the bathroom and others have different applications.

Craig confers with Darrell over the batch of construction invoices. First, he verifies each is above scope and where the work was done.

The project manager (Owner) then takes the invoices and logs in the info, sums up the expenses and cut a check from the construction fund.

The check is then handed over to Michelle, Darrell's wife and controller.

Builders are the masters of mutli tasking. Time is money and they can't afford to be standing around waiting for a window of opportunity to perform a key construction chore.

Here's Stacy is sorting through the chimney parts for exhausting the gas fireplace sitting in our old dining area. 

Our two Rock stars start to work their magic and measure to get our family room closed up. It is so nice to see that insulation disappear under the sheet rock.

 Here is our hall bathroom getting a new ceiling. It is tricky to cut the holes just right to allow the can lights to sneak through and shine.

Below the Kitchen and Dining areas get their new ceiling. This work favors a tall person. So when your are shorter the reach can really be tiring.

 

Here the GC's discuss how to set the fireplace and exhaust it to the outside.
