Tomorrow, the sheet rocking starts and one big task yet to be accomplish is the wiring of the new sub panel and the re-distribution of the circuits to the new kitchen.
With all the new appliances you need to separate electrical feeds to insure you don't overload a breaker with too much power demand. Refrigerators, microwaves, etc. all have their own circuits.
Stacy puts the final nails into the plywood per code, so we have the proper sheer strength to prevent wall shifting out of alignment and weaken the house.
One thing, I love about these builders is if they see improper bracing or bad construction methods, they fix them before they become a problem in the future.
Below is a good example where the builder has the electrician hard wired the power to the family room fireplace into an adjacent wall circuit, thus eliminating the external cord.
The stone mason will patch the hole so you will never know that a cord was there.
Here's our new porch entrance from the Kitchen. Sandy's deck will be to the left. She will be surrounded by all the cookbooks we could never view.
