Before you Start the Demo

When you start a remodel, there are a lot of preliminary tasks that occur in the background. First you select a General Contractor (GC). He interns select his sub-contractors. We have a electrician, plumber. painter, tiler, cabinet maker, wood flooring specialist, and a structural engineer. There is a lag time,  usually two months in getting a Sonoma County building permit approved. Our GC is Darrell Brittain, he is a second generation builder. He has 30 years experience doing all types of commercial and residential construction. He was very busy getting his material ordered and staged for the beginning of construction. Monday, May 6th was targeted as Demo day almost a year from starting our first phase of renovation. The following pictures depict our home before demo.

This is the Dining Room view with the pocket door into our family room and backed up to the entry and Living Room
