This blog is about Monday, May 6th. After a year of preparation, our builder showed up to utterly destroy the interior of 60% of home to birth a whole new living space. Darrell (left) is the GC. Stacy (right) is Darrell's partner and brother-in-law of 30 years.
The first victim to the crowbar and hammer was the Hall Bathroom. First to go was the mirror, no seven years back luck for the Steele's after all this is the house of the Royal Flush. I will miss that flowered wall paper. two thirds of our Wikiup home will be under construction shared is the Master Bedroom and Bath, our two offices and the Studio. Otherwise, every other space will get a face lift. We are shooting for mid July completion.
Decades of hidden interiors reveal old wood and insulation. T he brown tub awaits it's turn to head for the scrap hep. This will be our new shower and a glass door. It will be a one-piec floor to ceiling stall with a new window to the morning light.
During the construction, Sandy and I retreated to the Studio. We cook, eat and share the space with Will and Grave.
This fish eye view show what was removes gone are the cabinets, flooring, tile and popcorn ceiling. Below is the debris box with old parts of bathroom ready to head for the dump. Sandy checked out our new exterior bathroom to insure the toilet paper was the Costco's best.
